The Red River Rotary Clubs have joined together to create a wet, wild and muddy 5K run with obstacles (natural and man-made) desgined to challenge runners of all ages and abilities. The Kyle Ranch in Whiteboro, Texas is hosting our event. The view from the road may look peaceful and serene and the land flat and perfect for running. Looks can be deceiving! You will be running, jumping, crawling and climbing!
This is a family-friendly event. Racers can be as young as 14 (parent or guardian must accompany those under 18 and sign all race waivers prior to competition) and we have not set an upper age limit.
There will be food and music all day. Join us! Get a team together - Experience the Rush!
Here are the important details to remember for the race:
April 27th, 2013
13526 U.S. 377
(map on the right)
Registration is $70 the week of the race, but you might look at the registration section for some early bird discounts!
Anyone over 14 years of age can participate (no maximum age). It is a timed 5K for those who want to keep track, but you can play in the mud as long as you want.
While we expect all participants to have a blast, that's not the only reason we're having a race. Proceeds from our race will benefit Grayson County Veteran's Services and Rotary Operation Veteran Support. Both organizations provide help and support to Veterans in Grayson County and within Rotary District 5810.
Rotary Operation Veteran's Support works to help the men and women who have protected our Country far away and near, and from horrors that we wish not to imagine. It's an important cause and one that we're proud to be supporting with this race. You can find out more at the Operation Veteran's Support website and if you'd like to donate additional funds or time you can do that at their volunteer page.
Additional proceeds will be given to the individual clubs programs in their local communities including scholarships, international cultural exchanges (GSE Program) and leadership camps for youth (Camp RYLA).
Registration can be done through our event page on Event Brite. There you will sign up, pay and choose your start time. The earlier you sign is better, not only because of the reduced price but also so that we can make sure that we'll have a shirt in your size and that your start time will available!
Anyone 18 or older is eligible to participate in the race. We also encourage teams. If you have a teams that would like to participate just have everyone sign up for the same start time. For members of your team that don't want to race, they're welcome to come, hang out, and listen to music while the racers run the course.
